COPO is stands for Central Office Production Order and was originally used by dealers in the 1960s to build Camaro models not otherwise available. In 2013, Chevrolet re-produce the drag strip-ready 2013 Chevrolet COPO Camaro that will be limited to a production run of just 69 cars. It is following in the footsteps 2012 COPO Camaro which produced with the same number. The number is significant as it pays homage to the 1969 Camaro ZL1, of which just 69 examples were ever built.

For exterior, all cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro. The COPO Camaro offers a solid rear axle and an NHRA-mandated roll cage.
