Chevrolet introduced the restyled 2014 Camaro line at the New York Auto Show, including the return of the Camaro Z/28, the most iconic model in Camaro's history.
The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 models feature a revised exterior design that integrates high-performance aerodynamics for more efficient cooling and stability at high speeds. The new Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 also features a full aerodynamics package that creates downforce at speed, which helps make it the most track-capable offering in Camaro's history. This package includes a large splitter up front, fender flares over the front and rear wheels and extended rocker panels. At the rear Chevrolet installed an aggressive rear spoiler and a functional diffuser. To help save weight in this model, GM thinned the rear window to only 3.2 mm (0.125 inches) from the standard 3.5 mm (0.138 inches), and deleted the HID headlights and fog lights.
Chevrolet will offer a distinctive trim in matte-metallic Octane finish, a flat-bottomed steering wheel and standard Recaro seats with microfiber suede inserts. These new seats are offered with seat cutouts inspired by the five-point harnesses found on racing seats.
Under the hood, The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 equipped with 7.0L V-8 engine with an output of 500 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Additional, the new Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is only offered with a Tremec TR6060 manual transmission that sends the engine’s power to the rear wheels. The power travels through a limited-slip differential featuring a helical gear set, rather than traditional clutch packs and a 3.91-to-1 gear ratio.

Most of the cars were covered. So they were not classic barn finds in the sense of being neglected. Larry peeled back a car cover to reveal his original paint Z/28, Hugger Orange with deluxe houndstooth interior. Skip has owned many Camaros, but he had never seen anything like this Z/28. The car had obviously been well taken care of since new. He believes the Z/28 originally wore Firestone Sports Car 200 tires, which the owner removed and saved. They were stored in the basement with the Z/28.
