2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport Reviews

2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport made its world debut at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China. Lexus CT 200h is a unique hybrid car. Lexus has done a lot of work to bring out the best of this model in the past few years, even adding the unique spindle grille styling for the 2014 model. But even that wasn’t enough for the company because lo and behold, we now have the CT 200h F Sport.

The graduation from the standard model to the one with an F Sport stamp of approval is mostly limited to aesthetic and aerodynamic changes, but the difference between the two is pretty drastic, particularly on how sportier and more aggressive the front section of the CT 200h F Sport looks.

The 2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport is now available in any of six body colors, including a new red color option. Lexus is also hoping that the addition of a two-tone paint option featuring a black roof coupled with a body color of your choice will make some buyers take notice.

The exterior of the 2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport is one that can be best described as sporty and sophisticated, and that’s even without all the added goodies that comes with the F Sport package.

The biggest visual change is, of course, the addition of the new corporate front fascia, which Lexus refers to as the "spindle grille." Other changes on the outside include a choice of new 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels featuring a 10-spoke design. The CT 200h has also been treated to a redesigned rear bumper, the most noticeable changes being the black lower center section and L-shaped reflector housings.

Lexus’ reputation as a luxury Japanese brand clearly shows itself in how the company treated the interior of the CT 200h. From the form-fitting bucket seats to the stacked console highlighted by an 8-inch LCD multifunction display. the CT 200h's body rigidity through additional spot welding and through the use of structural-adhesive technology. The increased body rigidity has also allowed Lexus to tweak the suspension, including the addition of a new shock-absorber valve and new coil springs.

2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport has received a new 14.6-inch diameter steering wheel, as well as a 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor Optitron instrument panel, which can be linked to the car's infotainment system and controlled by steering wheel-mounted switches. Also premiering in the CT 200h refresh is the second generation Remote Touch Interface system, which Lexus promises will be more user friendly. The sound system has also been improved with the debut of the world's first bamboo loudspeaker technology, combining bamboo fiber, plant opal, and charcoal to create the industry's thinnest loudspeaker diagram. The system promises to offer noticeably improved sound quality.

Talking about the lengthy standard and optional features of the 2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport, you can be impressed with the keyless ignition, Bluetooth hands-free pairing for voice and audio streaming, iPod control, SiriusXM satellite radio, and the Lexus Safety Connect system, among others.

Under the hood the 2014 Lexus CT 200h F Sport comes with the hybrid powertrain features the same 1.8-liter, inline-four engine and a high-output electric-drive motor with EV mode as its base variant. Combined together, the CT 200h F Sport is still capable of producing a modest 134 horsepower. That won’t blow your socks off but with an improved mileage of 43 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway, the CT 200h F Sport’s hybrid setup will make the car worth it for the everyday city driver.
